In the wake of Armageddon, Hope awakens in Winterhaven, her stronghold. Death quickly appears to tell her that she will once again serve as his incarnation in this new reality but with slightly different powers. Though Hope tries to resist, she once more takes on the form of Lady Death. She is shown the different realms that now make up the realm of Chaos, as well as their rulers. She learns that Nocturne, leader of the army of night, is now her newest and greatest rival as her power is great and she has captured her old friend, Cremator. Lady Death and Vandala head out to find her.
