La Mousserie #2

The subtitle says it all — "Personne ne s'échappe…" ("Nobody escapes…") — and the cover of this second volume from Issa Boun delivers the joke with deadpan charm: a round-headed little guard stands baffled as a striped, blob-like creature attempts a very undignified tunnel escape straight through the prison floor, rear end still sticking out beside an overturned toilet. Published in 2018 by Monsieur Pop Corn, La Mousserie #2 continues what looks like a wonderfully absurd take on life behind bars, told through Boun's clean, minimalist linework and a perfectly timed visual gag.
