The fifth volume of Theo van den Boogaard and Wim T. Schippers' beloved series finds the dapper Léon — tuxedo-clad and bespectacled — roaring through a shower of shattered glass aboard a powerful motorcycle, looking utterly unruffled by the chaos around him. The title Casse la Baraque ("Brings Down the House") could hardly be better illustrated than by this wonderfully deadpan image of cool destruction set against a bold yellow-and-orange backdrop. Published in 1990 by L'Écho des Savanes/Albin Michel, this album is a fine showcase for the series' signature blend of absurdist humor and sleek European cartooning.
