Konvooi #15

The fifteenth chapter of Konvooi brings "De privéjacht" — and Philippe Buchet's cover sets a genuinely tense mood, depicting three figures wading through a murky swamp: a powerfully built, bald humanoid shouldering heavy gear, a young woman in a pith helmet gripping a spear-like weapon, and a mechanical robot companion trailing close behind with its own equipment. Looming over them in the darkness above are a pair of enormous glowing eyes belonging to some unseen creature lurking among twisted branches — a reminder that whatever hunt is unfolding, the group may not be the only predators in these waters. With writing by Jean-David Morvan and Hans van den Boom and Buchet handling every visual aspect of the cover, this 2024 Arboris release looks like a richly atmospheric entry in the series.
