Knights of the Dinner Table Illustrated #1

Jun 2000 · Kenzer and Company · 2.95 USD; 4.50 CAD
“Lair of the Gazebo”

In "Lair of the Gazebo," the Knights of the Dinner Table welcome Zayre into their ranks, where her calm diplomacy impresses the group—especially when she convinces a troll guardian to let them pass without a fight. But when El Ravager attempts the same approach with a far more dangerous black dragon, things go terribly wrong. Written by Jolly R. Blackburn, Brian Jelke, Steve Johansson, and David S. Kenzer, and illustrated by Aaron Williams, this 2000 issue captures the series’ signature blend of humor and high-stakes fantasy, with Williams handling both the interior art and the cover.

Zayre meets and joins up with the group. She impresses the boys when instead of attacking immediately, she talks to a troll guardian, securing the group's safe passage. El Ravager tries a similar tactic with a black dragon they encounter with disastrous results.
