Part of Dynamite's ambitious Kirby: Genesis universe, this fourth and final issue of Dragonsbane brings its warrior ensemble together in striking fashion, with Alex Ross's painted cover depicting a winged, spear-wielding hero raising a gleaming trident-like weapon before a massive glowing green spectral face, surrounded by a diverse band of fighters — including a flame-haired warrior, an armored swordsman, and a towering blue-skinned figure — while a serpentine dragon looms at the edge of the frame. The title "When Champions Clash!" promises exactly the kind of grand, mythology-soaked confrontation the image delivers. With writing by Robert Rodi and Alex Ross, interior art by Fritz Casas, and colors by Salvatore Aiala, this 2013 series finale is a satisfying showcase of Jack Kirby-inspired imagination.
