Kings Quest #3

From Dynamite Entertainment's King Dynamite line, this 2016 installment of Kings Quest brings together two very different heroes in a tense, shadowy setting. The cover by Marc Laming places a sword-and-shield-bearing warrior woman — clad in blue armor bearing a horse emblem — beside a steely, tuxedoed man gripping what appears to be a firearm, both of them wary and alert against a darkened, ornate backdrop. It's a striking pairing of old-world valor and modern cool that makes this third issue feel like the series is hitting its stride.
