King Spawn #5

A graveyard overrun with glowing-eyed undead sets an appropriately grim stage for this fifth issue of Image's ongoing King Spawn series. Björn Barends renders a muscular, green-skinned Spawn — red cape billowing, barbed wire coiling around his battered form — conjuring crackling hellfire in one hand while rotting zombies claw their way up from the earth around him, a shadowy church spire looming in the fog behind. Sean Lewis and Todd McFarlane's series is in full supernatural stride here, and this cover alone delivers plenty of atmosphere to draw you in.
