King-Size Hulk #1
In "Where Monsters Dwell," the Hulk seeks solitude in the Canadian wilderness, only to be pulled toward a hidden cave by forces beyond his control. There, he encounters Marie, sister to the man who became the Wendigo, and her brother Georges, who have a dangerous plan to transfer the Wendigo's power to him—though their magic may not be enough. With the Wendigo awakening and the Canadian government deploying Wolverine to track the Hulk, tensions rise in a story that blends myth, madness, and the raw power of the green giant. Written by Len Wein and illustrated by Herb Trimpe, with inks by Jack Abel, colors by Glynis Wein, and letters by Artie Simek, the issue features a striking cover by Art Adams.
In "And the Wind Howls... Wendigo!", the Hulk seeks solitude in the Canadian wilderness, only to be pulled into a haunting mystery when he stumbles upon a cave tied to the cursed legacy of the Wendigo. There, he meets Marie, the sister of the man transformed by the Wendigo's power, who hopes to use the Hulk as a vessel to restore her brother, Paul Cartier. As ancient magic stirs and the Wendigo awakens, the Hulk must face both the beast and the secrets buried in the snow-covered woods—while Wolverine arrives on the scene, drawn by a government alert and a growing threat.
In "And Now... the Wolverine!", Jo teams up with the Hulk to confront the Wendigo, but their alliance quickly fractures when Wolverine turns on the Hulk in a brutal clash. As Marie pushes forward with her plan to transfer the Wendigo's power into the Hulk, guilt over Paul Cartier’s transformation drives Georges to take the change upon himself—forever altering the balance of power.
In "Come On In, the Revolution's Fine," Valkyrie arrives at Avengers HQ with a bold mission: rally Wasp and the Scarlet Witch into her all-female team, the Lady Liberators. With the male Avengers distracted at a Halloween parade, the Masters of Evil strike—only to be swiftly overpowered by the Lady Liberators, who prove their strength in a clash that quickly turns personal when Valkyrie’s true identity as the Enchantress is revealed. The fight isn’t just against villains—it’s a reckoning.
