Midam's beloved Kid Paddle series reaches its 21st volume with a gloriously gross cover that sets the tone perfectly. A massive, brain-encrusted zombie monster — muttering "Brainzzz" — looms through what appears to be a doorway made entirely of pink brain matter, its jagged teeth and bulging eye directed squarely at Kid, who stands at a gaming setup looking wide-eyed and transfixed, while a smaller, bespectacled friend nearby looks decidedly less thrilled.
