During their search, Red Feather is attacked and nearly killed by an enraged bison, but Kid Cowboy intervenes with a knife to stop the beast. They discover Thomas was actually a bank robber, and the case against him is dismissed when the only witness, Jeb Matthews, is found dead. Kid Cowboy then trails a gunman across shallow streams and mountain slopes, eventually pursuing him toward Skull Valley, where he suspects a stage robbery and cargo theft are about to occur.
When an illegal dam threatens to drain the valley's water supply, Kid Cowboy and his blood brother Red Feather take on the crooked Mal Thomas and his hired guns to save the ranchers from ruin. With the odds stacked against them and gunmen closing in, the pair devise a desperate plan to breach the dam before Thomas's men can stop them—using nothing but grit, quick thinking, and a little frontier ingenuity.
Kid Cowboy faces off against the desperate outlaw Brazos Jim in the caves of Grizzly Mountain, but when a ferocious grizzly bear intervenes in their deadly struggle, the young hero discovers that an old debt from his past may be the only thing standing between him and certain death. A thrilling frontier tale of courage, cunning, and an unexpected alliance that proves sometimes fate has a way of evening the odds.
When a young officer named First Lieutenant Miles Nelson is wounded trying to hunt a bull bison near Camp Gray, Red Feather, a Pawnee scout, saves his life—and learns that the camp faces a dire threat from Chief Thunder Cloud and his Sioux warriors. Red Feather volunteers to ride to Fort Davis for reinforcements, but is captured by the very enemy he's trying to warn against, forcing him to escape and race back to stop a deadly trap: a false peace parley that will end in massacre disguised as a friendly lacrosse game. With the soldiers marching unknowingly toward slaughter and Sergeant Solomon preparing the troops outside the stockade walls, Red Feather must find a way to expose "The Massacre Game" before it's too late.
