“The Avenging Gun!”

Kid Colt is all fury and fists on Gil Kane's dynamic cover, showing the blond outlaw mid-brawl as he takes down multiple members of the Morgan Gang — one opponent sent tumbling through the air — while his trusty dark horse rears dramatically nearby. The cover caption promises "fighting fists of fury in the Wild, Wild West," and the story title "The Avenging Gun!" hints at a score Kid Colt is very determined to settle, declaring that the gang framed him and will pay "one by one." This 1978 Marvel Western delivers the rough-and-tumble frontier action the series does so well, with interior work from the team of Larry Lieber and Jack Keller bringing the dust and danger to life.
