Marvel's long-running western series delivers a white-knuckle standoff in this 1972 installment, with a cover by John Severin that pulls you right into the danger. Kid Colt, clad in his red shirt and cowhide vest, teeters on a rickety rope bridge spanning a dizzying gorge while armed outlaws on the far side open fire and a menacing figure in the foreground sneers the challenge — "the only place you're goin' is DOWN!" The story title "Desert Vengeance!" promises plenty more frontier tension within, brought to life by writer Joe Gill and artist Jack Keller.
