Four determined figures stand before a towering hilltop fortress in this opening chapter of Katharen — a long-haired blond warrior gripping a sword, a dark-haired woman at his side, an armored knight behind them, and a red-cloaked fighter brandishing a flail. Falba and Bono launch "Martelarenbloed" (Martyr's Blood) with a medieval world that feels both grounded and epic, Bono's linework giving each character a lived-in weight against the sweeping fortified landscape. A promising start to what looks like a richly atmospheric historical adventure.
