Katana #4

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, Katana #4 (July 2013) promises intense action right on its cover, where the white-masked, armor-clad Katana — blade in hand and battle cry on her lips — clashes mid-air against a fearsome, horned demon wearing a golden oni mask with wild green hair, debris exploding all around them. The tagline "Creeping Death!" leaves little doubt about the stakes of this confrontation. With writing by Ann Nocenti and art by Alex Sanchez and Art Thibert, this issue delivers the kind of kinetic, mythologically charged energy that made this New 52 solo series a compelling showcase for one of DC's sharpest warriors.
