“Down into...the Volcano!”

Ka-Zar swings into deadly peril on this March 1975 Marvel issue, as the blond jungle lord — knife in hand, rope overhead — faces a snarling chained lion and an armored sorcerer commanding a crowd of warriors to "Slay the jungle man!" The cover, penciled by Gil Kane and inked by Tom Palmer, crackles with menace, promising a clash of "savage strength vs. sinister sorcery" heading straight into "The Volcano of Molten Death!" Gerry Conway and John Buscema team up inside for what the cover boldly bills as "Down into...the Volcano!" — an adventure that looks every bit as ferocious as the roaring beast on its cover.
