But when the Spectre returns to the JSA brownstone, it becomes clear that Kung’s threat isn’t over. Written and illustrated by Jerry Ordway, with inks by Bob Wiacek and colors by Hi-Fi Designs, this 2009 issue delivers a chilling, supernatural showdown with lingering consequences. The Spectre takes Atom-Smasher, Power Girl, Judomaster, and Damage to help the JSAers taken by Kung. Spectre separates the angry souls working with Kung from him, and while the JSAers contain those souls, the Spectre seemingly sends Kung to his fate. But the Spectre returns to the JSA brownstone to put an end to the last of Kung's plans.
