“Justice Chapter One”

In "Justice Chapter One," a chilling threat unfolds as Superman uncovers Brainiac's plan to unleash humanity's entire missile arsenal. With Batman orchestrating an uneasy alliance between Luthor and Grodd through the Martian Manhunter, and heroes like Zatanna and Red Tornado tracking Brainiac's shifting hosts, the fate of Earth hangs in the balance. Alex Ross, Jim Krueger, and Doug Braithwaite deliver a visually striking and tightly woven narrative, with Ross's distinctive cover art setting the tone for a story where unity and desperation collide.

Superman discovers that Brainiac intends to launch all of humanity's missiles. While Batman forces Luthor to work with Grodd through the Martian Manhunter, other heroes keep the people in Scarecrow's city from harming each other. As Superman, Zatanna, and Red Tornado follow Brainiac as he transfers from one host to another, the other heroes track down the remaining villains. Luthor, Grodd, and Martian Manhunter are able, using Sinestro's ring, to divert the missiles into the sun, with the help of the Green Lantern Corps, and Brainiac is trapped in his own spaceship.
