Justice League Task Force #6

Part of DC's sweeping "Knightquest: The Search" crossover, this November 1993 issue drops the Justice League Task Force into what looks like a full-scale brawl on a city street. Sal Velluto and Jeff Albrecht's cover puts a powerfully built, bare-chested fighter front and center, flanked by Green Arrow drawing back for action, a woman in red, and a large snarling animal lunging overhead — all while a helicopter hovers ominously in the background. Dennis O'Neil and Velluto bring a kinetic, street-level energy to this team that makes it easy to see why the Task Force stood apart from the broader League during one of Batman's most turbulent eras.
