“The Origin of the Justice League!”

This handsome 2017 collection gathers Silver Age Justice League stories written by Gardner Fox with art by Mike Sekowsky and inks by Bernard Sachs, including the team's very own origin tale. Michael Cho's cover art captures the spirit of the era beautifully, presenting Wonder Woman front and center alongside a lineup of her teammates — Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Atom, and others — rendered in a crisp, retro style against bold radiating lines. It's a warm and inviting package for anyone who loves the earnest, adventurous energy that defined DC's Silver Age.

Felix Faust learns that the Demons Three--Abnegazar, Rath, and Ghast--can only be freed from a spell involving the Red Jar of Calythos, the Green Bell of Uthool, and the Silver Wheel of Nyorlath, which were hidden long ago by their jailers, the Timeless Ones. Meanwhile, the Lord of Time unleashes warriors of the past and future on the present to steal for him. As the League tries to stop him, they disappear one by one and find themselves under the control of Felix Faust, who orders them to retrieve the items needed to free the Demons Three.
