Justice League: Darkseid War: Batman #1

Part of DC's sprawling 2015 Darkseid War event, this one-shot zeroes in on Batman against a cosmic backdrop rendered by cover artist Francis Manapul. The cover is a striking, layered composition: Batman's cowled face looms at the top, cold and resolute, while below him a figure bearing Superman's emblem dominates the center — the symbol glowing with an eerie, almost divine energy — and a Green Lantern figure rises at the bottom, surrounded by constructs and shadowy forms on either side. Peter J. Tomasi writes, with Fernando Pasarin on interior art, promising a story — titled "God Only Knows" — that frames the Dark Knight against forces far larger than any earthly threat.
