Justice, Inc. #2
The second book in DC's mature-readers Justice, Inc. miniseries, subtitled "Betrayal," pairs writer Andrew Helfer with the singular talents of cover artist Kyle Baker — and the result is immediately arresting. Baker's cover is a study in stark, almost monochromatic dread: massive, radiating forms loom overhead while a lone, tiny figure stands at the bottom, dwarfed by the converging shapes in a blizzard of debris or shattered glass. It's a quietly unsettling image that makes the title's promise of betrayal feel genuinely ominous before you've turned a single page.
