A newlywed couple's marriage is tested when the husband's parents warn him against his wife Sheila, claiming her way of life is wrong and sinful. After a honeymoon tour of a new home they cannot afford, the couple returns to find themselves under observation by a real estate agent who suspects them of being watched. Tensions escalate as the husband questions his wife's loyalty and motives, particularly regarding another man named Carl, leading to conflict between the couple as they struggle with financial pressures and family disapproval of their marriage.
