This third chapter of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's Junkyard Joe delivers one of 2022's most atmospheric covers: a small, solitary figure bundled against the cold trudges through a snow-covered landscape of bare winter trees, while looming in the blue twilight above is the massive, shadowy face of Junkyard Joe himself, his glowing mechanical eyes cutting through the chill like headlights. Brad Anderson's cool, moonlit color palette gives the whole image a haunting, melancholy weight that feels closer to a storybook than a superhero comic — in the best possible way.
