Junior Hopp attempts to impress a new girl in town by taking her on two dates in one day to avoid seeming unattached, but his scheming backfires when George spots him and demands he explain his behavior. Later, Junior gets involved in a chaotic series of mishaps at a Marine recruiting office, where a fight between two men with grasshoppers in their jalopy causes mayhem, leading to Junior being rushed to the hospital. In a final twist, Mr. Twiddle uses Junior as a pinch hitter in a baseball game to help win the last inning, resulting in a spectacular home run.

Junior Hopp

Junior Hopp gets tangled up trying to help his friend Myrna find a dress form for a fashion competition, but the mix-ups pile up fast—especially when two other girls have their own designs on him and the evening ahead. With deadlines tight and schemes tighter, Junior's good intentions lead him straight into a comedy of misunderstandings that'll cost him more than just a dance partner.

Chuck goes after grasshoppers for biology class in a field when his pal Junior invites him to a soda at the Fountain of Youth. The two end up in Junior's jalopy with Chuck's hoppers spilling everywhere—leading to a wild, chaotic joyride through town that leaves Peggy convinced the "Hopp Rod" itself is just naturally jumpy. When the real culprit (grasshoppers stuck in the fuel pump) is finally revealed at Sam's Garage, the truth puts everyone's knowledge of cars—and each other—to the test.

That's the Ticket

Junior Hopp thinks he's outsmarted everyone by steering his friend Lester toward free food tickets to the church bazaar and dance—clearing the way for him to go with Myrna instead of Peggy. But his scheme backfires spectacularly when he realizes Myrna's running the food booth, leaving him to face the very girl he tried to avoid. A quick lesson in how cleverness can trip you up when you're not looking ahead.
