“Mamba! Witch of Death!”

In "Mamba! Witch of Death!", a pair of bird hunters fall victim to a lynx attack, setting off a chain of events that tests the bonds of loyalty and sanity. When Tawn is driven mad by tainted food left behind, Wambi and Tawn race to warn Ogg’s ape tribe—only to find the young apes have already cast Ogg out. Roy L. Smith’s tale, illustrated with dynamic energy by Frank Doyle and inked by Doyle himself, unfolds with tension and primal urgency. The cover, a striking piece by John Celardo, captures the danger lurking in the jungle’s shadows.
