Jumbo Comics #8 is an anthology featuring multiple stories and features. "Spencer Steel" by Dennis Colebrook follows the title character on vacation in Chitland, where he overhears a suspicious conversation about insurance fraud and becomes involved in a scheme to charge customers excessive money for haircuts. "Jest Laffs" by Robert Kane and "Uncle Otto" by Carl Heck present collections of humorous single-panel and multi-panel gags. "Wilton of the West" by Fred Sande depicts a western frontier adventure in which Wilton encounters a treacherous Indian attacker who wounds him and kills a half-breed guide, leading to a chase across the landscape under a full moon.
