“Mutts to You! Part 1”

In "Mutts to You! Part 1," Jughead's Pal Hot Dog #4 (1990) delivers a delightfully absurd twist as Bark-Man, newly revealed as Sgt. Slobber, remembers his true identity after a single punch from the formidable Edgar Allen Pow. Written by Nate Butler and illustrated by Doug Crane with inks by Pat Kennedy, the story rockets into action when Bark-Man uses his powers to redirect a meteor threatening A.S.P.C.A. headquarters, saving Planet Bruto in the process. The cover, penciled and inked by Nate Butler, captures the moment of cosmic chaos with classic Archie-style flair.

W.C. Fleas quickly tells Bark-Man he is Sgt. Slobber and introduces him as Edgar Allen Pow's new opponent for the overweight wrestling championship of the world. One blow from Edgar Allen Pow and Bark-Man's memory returns. Bark-Man quickly defeats Edgar and flies off to stop the meteor redirecting it to A.S.P.C.A. headquarters thereby saving Planet Bruto. As wrestling fans boo Bark-Man for cheating by using superpowers, Bertie beams him back to the moon.
