Jughead as an accidental teen heartthrob — that's the delightful irony splashed across Rex W. Lindsey's cover for this 1990 Archie Series issue. Center stage, Jughead belts out a heartbreak ballad into a microphone while a throng of adoring girls floods the stage with roses and outstretched hands, as a bewildered Betty looks on and wonders aloud how singing about giving up girls only makes them love him more. It's a perfectly absurd Riverdale moment, and the interior story — "I've Had It With Girls" — promises more of that same cheerful, self-defeating logic from everyone's favorite girl-avoider.
