Judge Dredd #6
Part of DC's 1995 run on the Mega-City One lawman, this "Malice in Wonderland" chapter puts Judge Dredd in a decidedly strange setting — the cover by Mike Avon Oeming shows him grappling atop a massive, moss-and-flower-covered creature made of bark and earth, while a small white-haired monkey-like figure cowers nearby amid scattered blossoms and bare branches. The psychedelic floral backdrop gives the whole scene a surreal, fairy-tale-gone-wrong atmosphere that sits in sharp contrast to Dredd's no-nonsense armored silhouette. With Andrew Helfer writing and art from J. H. Williams III, Cesar Lobo, and Douglas Selogy, this issue looks like a genuinely weird and entertaining detour for Old Stoney Face.
