History

The Jonny Quest series at Dynamite grew out of a multi-title licensing agreement between Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, announced at New York Comic-Con in October 2023, which also yielded contemporaneous runs for ThunderCats, Space Ghost, and The Powerpuff Girls. Writer Joe Casey and artist Sebastián Piriz were announced as the creative team in March 2024; the series debuted with a 10-page preview in Dynamite's Free Comic Book Day release on May 4, 2024, before the first full issue launched August 14, 2024. Issue #5 was originally solicited for December 11, 2024 but slipped one week to December 18, 2024, completing a five-issue limited run whose collected edition — Jonny Quest: Time Flies — was released in both hardcover and paperback formats in 2025.
