Jonah Hex #65

Jordi Bernet's cover for this 2011 entry in DC's long-running Western series captures Jonah Hex tumbling through a blinding blizzard, his duster coat whipping around him as he clutches his pistol, a stricken horse falling alongside him into the churning white void. The title "Snowblind!" says it all — this is Hex stripped of his usual dusty advantage and thrown into a harsh, disorienting winter landscape. Written by Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti with art by Bernet, issue #65 promises the kind of gritty, atmospheric frontier storytelling that has kept this series a standout on DC's slate.
