Jonah Hex #63
Jonah Hex strides straight toward the reader, a revolver raised in each scarred hand, his long duster coat swept back and his Confederate States belt buckle gleaming — it's a portrait of pure, weathered menace from Jordi Bernet, whose stark linework gives the scarred bounty hunter an almost skeletal intensity against the clean white background. The story title "Bury Me in Hell" sets a fittingly grim tone, and with Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti still steering the series in 2011, this is the kind of lean, no-nonsense Western storytelling DC's ongoing Hex title did so well. A solid pick for anyone who likes their frontier justice rough around the edges.
