“Seven Graves Six Feet Deep”

DC's grizzled frontier bounty hunter dangles precariously in a rocky canyon on this striking 2008 cover by Rafael Garrés — one hand gripping a rifle thrust skyward, the other clutching a pistol, hat pulled low as he hangs between the stone walls. The story title "Seven Graves Six Feet Deep" promises exactly the kind of grim, sun-bleached Western tension that writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti consistently deliver. It's a wonderfully composed image that captures Jonah Hex at his most dangerous — cornered, outgunned, and still absolutely refusing to quit.
