In "Blodsbröllop," Jonah Hex and his companion Mei seek shelter at a hotel that enforces harsh racial rules—Mei, as an Asian woman, is denied entry. When a group of racist thugs targets them, Jonah is injured in a wagon accident, forcing Mei to leave him behind to fetch a doctor. Struggling with his worsening back pain, Jonah must defend himself against three relentless bandits. In the end, he and Mei manage to buy the doctor’s house, finding a fragile refuge amid the danger. Written by Michael Fleisher and Hojen, with art by Dick Ayers and inks by Tony DeZuniga, and featuring a striking cover by Joe Kubert, this 1986 Semic issue delivers a tense, grounded tale of survival and uneasy alliance.
