A delightful slice of postwar humor from Marvel's comedy lineup, this September 1949 issue features Millie, Hedy, and Tessie — and the cover sets the lighthearted tone perfectly. A stylish blonde in a red polka-dot blouse strikes a coy pose at a bus stop while a smitten young fellow leans out of a beat-up jalopy, enthusiastically sloshing paint and sending hearts flying in her direction. Dan DeCarlo's artwork (he both penciled and inked the cover) gives the whole scene a breezy, flirtatious charm that made these humor comics such a fun read in 1949.
