This first volume of the classic Franco-Belgian series by Peyo collects the early adventures of the young page Johan and his mischievous dwarf companion Pirlouit, set in a medieval kingdom. The story 'Le Châtiment de Basenhau' sees the duo facing a threat to the realm, with the Comte de Tréville and the Roi playing key roles in the unfolding plot. Originally serialized in Spirou magazine, this edition marks the beginning of the beloved series that would later introduce the Smurfs.
