JLA / Titans #2

Part two of three in this JLA/Titans crossover, and the cover's tagline — "If one side wins… everybody loses!" — sets the stakes perfectly for the middle chapter of Devin Grayson and Phil Jimenez's three-part story. Jimenez's own cover pencils and inks pack the image with a collision of heroes in conflict: Batman looms large at the top, while Nightwing, Starfire, Huntress, Robin, and a fallen figure crowd a chaotic cityscape below. It's a vivid snapshot of two generations of DC's finest at each other's throats, with the tension practically leaping off the page.
