The annual JLA/Avengers get-together is shown over the years, with many members and many adventures. But Captain America and Superman don't believe these new world circumstances. Eventually, the spell fades and the 2 groups aided by the Phantom Stranger, journey to the Grandmaster's final resting place. The Grandmaster then reveals the heroes' destinies, most of which are heartrending at best. Only then do they decide to combine forces against Krona.
