"The Very Little Leek" follows a small character who borrows a wishing ring from a Sultan to visit a magic mountain and wish to grow into a real, strong onion; he travels by car with the Sultan's enemy, the Pasha, pursuing them. "Harlene the Lovable Brat" depicts a mischievous red-haired girl who plays pranks and creates chaos, including crashing the Fool Prince's car with an explosive device while he pursues her, culminating in her causing an accident involving sneeze powder that injures the pursuing villain.
When Chauncey Chirp and Johnny Jay organize a benefit pool party to raise money for the woodland orphans, a surprise visitor threatens to wreck the whole event—Humphrey Bohawk shows up with his gang and a scheme to steal the day's proceeds right out of the box office. With a fake drowning as cover and the orphans' fundraising in jeopardy, Chauncey has to outsmart the crooks and recover the stolen cash before Humphrey makes off with it.
When a high-class plumber is summoned by Sultan Mustapha Mo-Kash to investigate a missing ring from the royal bath-tub, he and his clever monkey-wrench assistant find themselves on a wild chase involving a scheming little leek, an old enemy called the Padded Pasha, and a magical mountain with the power to grant wishes. This 1948 humor fantasy from *Jingle Jangle Comics* #35 is a rollicking adventure full of fantastic vehicles, bumbling villains, and the kind of over-the-top logic that makes classic funny-animal comics so much fun.
