Jersey Gods #5 brings the thunder in a big way, with a cover by Erik Larsen that puts two powerfully built figures — one in purple and gold, one in a horned red-and-gold suit — in a full-on brawl amid a shower of shattered concrete, while a fallen woman lies vulnerable at their feet. The raw kinetic energy of Larsen's linework gives the clash an almost seismic weight, perfectly suited to a series about god-level beings mixing it up in a very human world. Glen Brunswick and Dan McDaid's Image series continues to look like one of the most entertaining superhero books of its era.
