A charming slice of postwar teen comedy from Marvel's 1949 lineup, this issue of Jeanie Comics finds the "Queen of the Teens" firmly prioritizing romance over culture — her emphatic "NO!" to admiring paintings says it all as she happily drags her uniformed beau away from the gallery wall. A wonderfully goofy figure in a purple polka-dot coat looks on in wide-eyed dismay, while floating hearts make Jeanie's real interest perfectly clear. Al Jaffee's lively linework gives the whole scene an infectious, rubber-limbed energy that makes this ten-cent charmer a delight to revisit.
