Jeanie Comics #22
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeJeanie, the self-proclaimed "Queen of the Teens," is caught red-handed on this November 1948 cover as a tree literally rains dollar bills while an exasperated older man throws up his hands and demands, "Bills! Bills! Jeanie, do you think money grows on trees?" — apparently, for her, it does. A young fellow on a rolling cart rounds out the scene, and Jeanie's breezy "Shhhh!" suggests she's not remotely sorry. It's a perfectly charming snapshot of postwar teen-humor comics at their most cheerfully irreverent.
