David Yardin's cover for issue #6 sets a genuinely unsettling mood: Jean Grey lies unconscious within a ritual circle of candles, her green-and-yellow costume vivid against the floor, while a cloaked, chain-adorned sorcerer hovers above her channeling swirling green magical energy. The spectral tendrils curling through the air suggest something powerful — and possibly very dangerous — is being worked on the young mutant. With Dennis Hopeless writing and art by Paul Davidson, this 2017 series continues to explore Jean's world in ways that go well beyond the X-Men's usual terrain.
