This tenth issue of Jade — Revue de la bande dessinée moderne from 6 Pieds Sous Terre brings together a rich roster of contemporary French-language cartoonists under the theme "Le Regard des Autres" (The Gaze of Others). Joël Legars's cover sets the mood perfectly: a crowd of sharply dressed city dwellers in muted grays and blues surrounds a small, wide-eyed figure at the center, capturing that universal feeling of being observed — and slightly overwhelmed — by the anonymous urban mass. With contributions including work by Guillaume Guerse and Marc Pichelin, this 2010 anthology is a welcoming showcase for some of the most interesting voices in modern bande dessinée.
