“Do I Look At the Camera or Do I Look At Me?”

In "Do I Look At the Camera or Do I Look At Me?", Jaime Hernandez captures a quiet, charged moment in the lives of Maggie and Daffy at a Huerta punk reunion, where memories and uncertainty collide. As Maggie circles the edges of the gathering—hesitating, stepping away, then returning—she finally sees Hopey, not as she imagined, but with her new circle, leaving her own feelings hanging in the balance. The story, written, drawn, inked, and lettered by Jaime Hernandez, is a poignant, intimate portrait of connection, identity, and the quiet weight of presence.
