Midas has tricked Abe Klein into betraying Stark and his friends. Iron Man if forced to fight his own robots in order to save his friends from Midas and his henchmen, but in the process, he is turned into gold by the villain's golden touch. Stark soon breaks out of the golden armor and builds a new armor from the remains of his old robots. Together with Jack of Hearts and his insane ex-girlfriend Marianne Rogers, Iron Man is able to stop Midas. Abe Klein begs Iron Man's forgiveness and dies.
