Issue nine of twelve in this 2007 limited series finds Ion — glowing with green energy, Earth looming behind him — at the center of a stunning cosmic standoff. The cover by Kalman Andrasofszky surrounds the lone hero with enormous, spectral green creatures closing in from every side, their massive forms dwarfing him against the star-filled void.
