While waiting for it to fully charge, he has a dinner date with Dr. Amara Perera, a biophysicist who confides that she has developed a cure for the mutant gene, though she has no plans to use it. Stark's AI butler Friday interrupts the date with the news that Madame Masque has invaded Castle Doom and stolen something unknown. Iron Man flies to Latveria to investigate, where he is met by a maskless Doctor Doom, who suggests that they work together.
