Black Bolt dominates this striking cover, arms outstretched and crackling with fierce blue-white lightning as a crowd of desperate, reaching hands surges up from below around him — the tension between his regal composure and their urgent grasping makes for a genuinely arresting image. Jae Lee's cover work here is moody and precise, using that signature fan of wing-like quill details radiating from Black Bolt's suit to give him an almost otherworldly presence against the stormy sky. Part of Marvel Knights' 1999 run written by Paul Jenkins, this third issue — "Ghost in the Machine" — promises the kind of brooding, atmospheric Inhumans storytelling that made this series stand out.
